Holding Out Hope
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all.”  - Emily Dickinson

PROGRAMS

Give Hope - Weekly Voices of Freedom Choir practice and group mentoring. On average 50 women participate in this weekly program inside the prison.

Boxes of Hope - When a choir member makes parole she is responsible for contacting Holding Out Hope upon her release.  A Box of Hope will be sent to her current address. The box is filled with books, a journal, music, basic toiletry items, and a Wal- Mart gift card.  This box is an encouragement to the women we serve - reminding them of their value during those first crucial weeks of transition.

Give Me $5 - This fund raiser takes place every Christmas.  Donations are collected to provide Christmas dinner for every inmate at the Tennessee prison for women.  In addition to a holiday meal, each woman receives a gift bag containing a pack of paper, pen, bottle of shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush and a few snacks.

Create Hope - Each Christmas we make over 500 one-of-a-kind pages of stationery at our annual Create Hope Night. We collect postage stamps and greeting cards to assist indigent inmates.
